Occidentalability

"Occidentalability" is a grotesque but unavoidable neologism, which signifies the West presented as the essence of efficacy. Occidentalability not only implies that a modern Western scientist is better situated than a Bhaktapurian to understand, classify and, describe Bhaktapur, but it also submerges the multiplicity of Bhaktapurian voices under an authoritative scientific logocentric monologue‹what Homi Bhabha calls "the ontology of the white world‹its assumed hierarchical forms of rationality and universality."
